Special Day

Today we celebrated national "Poem in Your Pocket" day!  Each student and teacher was given a poem to "own" for the day.  As we went through our school day we shared our poems with each other.  Some of us noticed that others had the same poem as us!  At the end of the day, we read our poems aloud to the whole class.
It was also Ms. Keeley's last day with us.  She is a Lesley student and has been visiting us every Thursday this term.  We will miss her a lot and wish her the best of luck!

April 2

This week we glazed the pottery bowls for the benefit next month.  Eileen and Melody helped us with all the steps in this process.
We finished our bridges engineering unit with some fantastic constructions. In the process the students learned a lot about forces, weight, stability and strength.  I was especially proud of the way the kids worked together in their design groups.
And the biggest news of all..... We went on the "best field trip ever" today to the Japan House at the Children's Museum.  The children will be writing small moment books about the trip so you will get to hear much more about it (if you haven't already!).
While at the Museum, we had a chance to learn suminagashi-an ancient Japanese art form.
Happy Passover!  Happy Easter!  Enjoy the long weekend!
