Children's Day

Yesterday, May 5, we celebrated Children's Day in Room 210.  Aki's dad, Shun, came to teach us each how to write our names in katakana, the phonetic symbol system of writing in Japan.  It is one of three different ways to write in Japan.
We had several other stations to keep us busy:
Practicing eating "tofu" and "noodles" with chopsticks.
Making carp kites
Drawing an ikebana arrangement
Making paper bento boxes, containing noodle, sushi, tofu, vegetables and rice.
Shun set up a special display of Children's Day items:
Coming soon- World Fest!
